I finally got to see Valerie Tutson perform. Valerie is a very well known story teller, one that I have been trying to see for sometime now. My schedule just didn't allow it until today. She was working with Community MusicWorks of Providence RI. in a presentation of the children's book titled Songs Of Darkness and light. The books author and illustrator were present also. As usual, Valerie was totally committed and invested in her performance, yet still able to be in the moment and interact with the many children's outburts of participation. Well worth the inexpensive cost of the venue. A quality performer, which brings to mind another quality performer who goes by the name of Avner The Eccentric. I highly recommend seeing a performance presented by either of these two performers. I have neglected to mention the great music which was played at today's event as well.
Hello Friends. I was at the Macaroni Kid Birthday Bash over on Shelter Rock road today. I met some exciting children's performers and there was one that I wanted to mention. I met a young women who, I believe was Belle from Beauty and the Beast from the website PRINCESSPARTIES.COM. I saw her relating to a group of young girls before the other princess' arrived at the event, and she was exceptional. I just wanted to give credit where credit is due. Speaking of credit, Kudos to Meghan F. from the Macaroni Kid for running a really nice event.
Humor that pokes fun at your shared human experience has the potential to encourage someone who is watching to let their guard down. Once someone's guard is down and they have shared a common experience they have a temporary sense of community. During this sense of community a message can be conveyed and more easily taken into consideration. Maybe it's a message of cooperation, a message of love or of hope. If all you know is despair, this message can be empowering and maybe life changing.
